their design, my build

Someone else's design, rebuilt to learn how the timing works.

role
All of the build. None of the design — the layout, type and art direction are theirs, not mine.

what it is, and whose it is

what it is
A rebuild of Spain Collection, an Awwwards-featured site, made to learn scroll choreography from the inside rather than from a tutorial.
whose design
The layout, type and art direction are theirs, not mine. It is labelled a study here and on the live page, because that is exactly what it is.

what actually moves

Scroll-linked progress interpolationFramer Motion + Lenis
scrollYProgress[0.0 → 1.0] rangeuseTransform()translate3d / scaleSection handoff60fps GPU compositeScrolling drives the progress value directly rather than firing one-shot entrance triggers.
scroll-linked transitions
Scrolling drives the transitions rather than triggering them.
section choreography
How each section hands off to the next.
what came out of it
A sense of how much timing work sits behind a page that feels effortless.

Constraints

what the build had to work around

the design is not mine
Almost every rebuild is shown as original work. This one cannot be, because the art direction belongs to someone else — so the only honest deliverable is a study, and the only claim it makes is about the build.
timing is a performance problem first
Scroll-linked motion has to stay in step with someone who can scroll as fast as they like, which makes it a performance constraint before it is a design one.

Kept in the Studies section because it is honest about where the motion work started — and because the timing problems in it are real ones.
